RedState Gets Joe

While Reid and Pelosi are thankfully ignoring Lieberman, and Dick Durbin is sighing at his antics, RedState (taking their cues from Fred Hiatt) seems to understand the real political utility of this "courageous" Senator better than most:

But most importantly, Lieberman appears to be one of the few Congressional Democrats willing to take the long view regarding the issue of Iraq and the war on terror in general. I hope that his attitude catches on among others in the Democratic caucus but even if it does not, Lieberman renders the invaluable service of splitting the Democrats on the issue of the war.

Except, of course, he's not splitting the Democrats, he's leading the united Connecticut for Lieberman Party...

Oh yeah, you all did and won.

If only the CT Legislature hadn't made a dumb mistake...

Wait a minute, I thought the Connecticut for Lieberman Party was against the war now, and Joe wasn't in it.

Re: RedState Gets Joe (none / 0)

This is a comment I posted Last November:
Lieberman has described himself as a Democrat, an Independent, or an Independent Democrat depending on who he is talking to at that particular moment, but in actuality he is as he has been for the past five or so years, a Liebermantarian. By the way, groups of Grassroots activists are in the process of throwing Lieberman out of the Democratic Party.

A Liebermantarian does not really care about the Working Man needs or wants, but only cares what position of the pending legislation will serve Joe Lieberman best. A Liebermantarian does not care about the Senior Citizens, or what programs they need to protect their health and well being, but only what position will serve Joe Lieberman best. A Liebermantarian does not care if our ports and borders are secure, or if Illegal Immigrants are taking jobs away from honest American Citizens at less that a living wage, just whatever position serves Joe Lieberman best. A Liebermantarian knows full well that the invasion of Iraq was a mistake and we should not keep sending young American Military over there to be slaughtered in a part of the world where the people who live there have been fighting religious wars among themselves for centuries, and in Iraq the Shiite Muslims and the Sunni Muslims are doing exactly that while our troops are watching. But if a Liebermantarian says something that proves to be wrong, they are not allowed to change their mind, no matter how many innocent civilians, or young soldiers die because of their error.
